Genesis Motors is a new luxury brand that is completely revamping the look and affordability of the luxury vehicle industry. The history of Genesis is brief, but the brand has already taken huge strides to place itself in an excellent position moving into 2021. The first Genesis was introduced in 2003 as a luxury concept vehicle for prominent South Korean manufacturer Hyundai. It wasn’t until 4 years later in 2007 that the first Genesis model was introduced into the lineup. In 2013, the second generation Genesis was released and just two years later, several designers from such notable vehicle giants as Lamborghini, Audi and BMW came together to found and launch the Genesis brand as its own entity.
Primed for sales in the U.S., South Korea, Middle East and China, the Genesis brand has made a name for itself in the six years since its inception. As of 2020, Genesis has a total of four luxury vehicles – three sedans and a single SUV – with a new compact SUV set to be released later in 2021 as a 2022 model, and talk of a full-electric coupe on the horizon.
Drawing from various luxury brand designs including Bentley Motors and Lamborghini, Genesis is in its branding prime with distinct body lines, headlights and grills that are unmistakable. Competing against other luxury brands like BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz, Genesis has to remain on its toes and continue to create beautiful, classy vehicles at a price that welcomes all consumers rather than just those in the top 3%.
