Brake Test and Repair near Boerne, TX
Taking care of your vehicle after you’ve purchased it is the key to ensuring it will remain with you for a long time. Your investment should be protected, and the best way to do this is by scheduling your routine maintenance at Genesis of East San Antonio. Some of the components you should keep an eye on are your brakes, so come by for a brake test and corresponding repairs. We’re happy to accommodate you during our business hours.
Brakes
There are multiple components within your brake system, and they all work together in order to bring you to a halt when you’re driving down South Main Street. First, you need to press down on your pedal, which will then cause your pads to press up against your rotor, or brake disc. The pads absorb the friction from the rotating disc that moves with your wheels, in order to bring you to a complete stop. Because each piece takes on a different role and performs differently, some parts last longer than others. If you have any questions about specific components, you should reference your Owner’s Manual. There you will find more specific details about the size of parts and more.
Test and Repairs
A good rule of thumb that you should follow is to get your brakes tested at least twice a year, or every six months. Doing so will enable you to keep a close eye on your items and when their next repairs are upcoming. This test can also be done in conjunction with other services such as your oil change or brake fluid replacement, making it easy for you to be on top of any abnormal changes. However, if you notice any of the following warning signs, you should schedule a visit to our Service Department as soon as possible. If your vehicle’s reaction time is greatly diminished, you’re having trouble stopping, your brake light is engaged on your dashboard, or there is leaking fluid, you should get your vehicle serviced.
Service Department
At the top of our page you will find an Ownership tab. The dropdown menu under it features information about our service center, as well as other links and resources you can utilize. We have exclusive benefits for Genesis owners with our Genesis Experience hyperlink. Also here you will find information such as our hours and location so you can plan your trip accordingly.
